Marta Zaharia, President

Marta Zaharia is a 1991 graduate of the George Brown College Intervenor Program. Marta is currently the Seniors Coordinator and Communications Coordinator at the Canadian Helen Keller Centre and a team member of the Zoom-In and Redefine partnership. Marta is the Co-Chair of the Deafblind Coalition of Ontario, a member of the National Deafblind Awareness Month working group, and a member of the George Brown College Intervenor Program Advisory Committee representing the IOO.

Gwynne MoorE, Vice President

Gwynne is an intervenor with the Durham Catholic District School Board and Deafblind Ontario Services. She graduated from the George Brown College Intervenor Program in 2012.

Laura Aguiar, treasurer

Laura is a graduate of the 2015 Intervenor for Deafblind Persons Program at George Brown College. She is an intervenor and Project Coordinator relating to the history of deafblindness in Canada with the Canadian Helen Keller Centre. Laura is a member of the CDBA National and IOO Family/Guardian Education Committee, current editor of the IOO e-newsletter and coordinator of the IOO blog, and a member of the Intervenor Services Human Resources Strategy Marketing and Communications Sub-Committee.

Katie Metauro, Membership Coordinator

Katie is a 2012 graduate of the Intervenor Program at George Brown College. She is an intervenor and instructor with the Canadian Helen Keller Centre.  Katie is responsible for all matters relating to the IOO's corporate, individual, and supporting memberships.

 

Lessette Morales, Member at large

Lessette is the Community Services Coordinator with the Canadian Helen Keller Centre, Activity Programmer with the Deaf-Blind Association of Toronto, and a founding member of the Deaf-Blind Adventurers. Lessette is a 2006 graduate of the George Brown College Intervenor for Deafblind Persons Program and a member of the IOOs Professional Development Committee.

Melanie Gauthier, Secretary

Melanie is the Provincial Programs Manager with the Canadian Helen Keller Centre and a part-time faculty member at George Brown College in the Intervenor Program. Melanie is a graduate of the 1999 Intervenor Program and a member of the IOOs Professional Development Committee.

 

 

 

Kirsty Wymant, Member at Large

Kirsty is an intervenor with the Canadian Deafblind Association Ontario Chapter and with the Canadian Helen Keller Centre, working in both acquired and congenital sectors.  Kirsty graduated from the George Brown College Intervenor Program in 2012 and is also a member of the CDBA National and IOO Family/Guardian Education Committee.
